Why LayerPoint instead of a typical IT company?
Most IT companies spread a few technicians across hundreds of clients, so you get whoever is free that day, reading from a script. We specialize in cloud security and compliance, assign you a dedicated senior engineer who actually knows your office, and keep pricing transparent with no long-term lock-in — senior-level expertise without senior-level overhead.
What size companies do you work with?
We focus on small and mid-sized local businesses — medical and dental practices, law firms, accounting and real-estate offices, and other South Florida companies that need enterprise-grade security and IT without hiring an in-house team. Whether you're a solo office or a multi-location practice, we right-size everything to fit.
How does pricing work?
Right-sized and predictable. We scope a monthly plan to your business — your team size, your systems, and the level of security and support you need — with transparent pricing and no long-term lock-in. The free assessment is the fastest way to get an exact quote for your office.
How fast can you start?
Discovery engagements typically begin within 1–2 weeks of contract signing. Full project work starts after the 2-week discovery phase. For urgent incident response, we can deploy a SOC team within 24 hours.
Can you help us achieve HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI-DSS or ISO 27001 compliance?
Yes — that's a core part of our L2 Security service. We help you architect the controls, prepare the evidence, and stand up the technical and procedural requirements to pass HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and GDPR audits. We work alongside your auditor of choice; we don't issue the certification ourselves — we get you ready to earn it, and we keep you ready year-round.
Do you work with law firms — and can you help with Microsoft Purview & eDiscovery?
Yes — it's one of our specialties. We help law firms and legal teams stand up Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (Standard and Premium on E5), apply fast in-place legal holds, run content searches across Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, manage custodians, and produce defensible exports your matters can rely on. Underneath that we build the information-governance layer: retention schedules and defensible disposition, data classification and sensitivity labels, DLP, and information barriers (ethical walls) that keep matters and conflicts properly separated. We bridge the gap between your legal and IT teams — and we get the governance foundation right before you roll out Microsoft Copilot or other AI.
Are you local — and do you provide on-site support in South Florida?
Yes. We're based in Lake Worth and work with businesses across Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade. Most issues are handled remotely and resolved fast, and we come on-site whenever the situation calls for it — new-office setups, hardware, or anything that needs hands on the equipment.
Do you sign a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement (BAA)?
Yes. Any time we touch systems that store or transmit PHI, we sign a BAA and operate as a responsible party under HIPAA. You get documented policies, access controls, audit logging, encrypted backups, and procedures that hold up if you're ever audited.
Can you support our EMR/EHR or legal document-management system?
Yes. We manage the cloud, identity, email, backup, and security layers underneath the software your practice or firm already runs — whether that's an EHR/EMR, a practice-management platform, or a legal document system like NetDocuments, iManage, or Clio. We keep it available, secure, and properly backed up without disrupting how your team works.
We're a small practice or solo firm — are we too small for you?
Not at all. We right-size every engagement, so a small practice or solo firm gets the same senior-level security and compliance work as a large client — just scoped to your needs and budget. The free assessment is the easiest way to see what that looks like for you.
Can you help us become a Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud or Oracle Partner?
Yes — we run end-to-end partner enablement engagements. That includes building the technical foundation each program requires, prepping your team for the certification exams, configuring partner-portal and marketplace listings, gathering the audit evidence, and shepherding the application process. Once you're in, we help you maintain the qualifications year-round so you don't lose status. Common targets: Microsoft Partner Network (Solutions Partner designations), AWS Partner Network (Select/Advanced/Premier tiers), Google Cloud Partner Advantage, and Oracle Cloud Partner Network.
What happens if we want to leave?
We make leaving easy on purpose. Knowledge transfer is built into every engagement, all infrastructure is documented in your IaC repos, and contracts include 30-day exit clauses. We earn renewals by being good partners, not by holding you hostage.
